This weekend, Pomegranate participated in the 18th Annual San Diego Jewish Book Fair held at the Tempele Solel located at Cardiff by the Sea, CA. The final day of the fair included appearances by featured authors Ari Seth Cohen of Advanced Style, and Rachelle Bergstein of Women from the Ankle Down, as well as various boutique vendors selling fashionable art to wear pieces.

Rachelle Bergstein wrapped up the presentation with an
introduction to her debut book Women from
the Ankle Down, which explores the history and analyzes the enduring
obsession with footwear and its impact on feminine culture. Focusing on the 20th century, Bergstein
looks at popular media—think Carrie Bradshaw, and examines the desire for
height and innovation—which cannot be uttered without reference to Alexander
McQueen’s jaw dropping 10-inch “armadillo shoes, from his Spring 2010 runway
collection.
So check out both books, and if you are remotely into
fashion, unique people or shoes, they are guaranteed to be good reads.
And one more thing…
One of Pomegranate’s own regular clients, Carol Olten was
featured in Ari Seth Cohen’s Advanced
Style Blog.
So take a cue from Carol and come visit us at Pomegranate in La Jolla or if you’re not local, check out our online boutique for the same unique, artsy, edgy, and innovative pieces.
